My Design Process
This redesign updates our FL27 clip-on light to USB-C charging, replacing the original button batteries to comply with Reese’s Law and improve safety.
I also expanded the functionality with multiple brightness levels for different reading conditions, all controlled through a single button. A short press cycles through four modes, red at 1 lumen, then 10, 20, and 40 lumen white, while a long press turns it off, with memory to return to the last setting.
