Portable chargers have become commonplace. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes but the similar thread between them all is cheap construction, one function, and a limited lifespan. The veiled group has introduced a solar portable charger constructed from wood. The beauty of this product is in what it improves. It can be charged using a standard wall outlet, but what sets it apart is its capability in the field. The charger will automatically stop charging when the devices are fully powered in order to prevent wearing out the battery.

This product is example of design specifically for adventurers and individuals off the grid. It is no wonder that design from nature goes hand in hand with exploring the environment. Use of wood was not only a sustainable choice but a functional one. Because of the thermal properties of wood, the charger's temperature is kept at a constant moderate level and is less likely to suffer overheating.

Great design does not always result from being the first with a brand new technology. Often it comes from starting with a consumer problem and combining current resources in an innovative way to remedy those pain points.
