Over this past semester I believe I have made tremendous strides in being willing to take risks. Most notably in the Street Seats project, I chose an unconventional material in tires. Trying to find a suitable support material I did a deep dive into Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete research. Realizing it was not quite feasible I experimented with heat bending acrylic, a process that was entirely new to me. From several times I was told that bending 1/2" acrylic was not possible, I experimented anyways and found I could. The resulting Street Seat is not perfect in proportions but the elegance and process of form making I have learned has been invaluable. Overall this semester, I have learned to let go and be more open to making mistakes.

One skill that I wish to continue to improve is my sketching skills. Over the team project with interior design, I have more eagerly explored loose digital sketching and I believe I am on my way of finding my own sketching style. For me this is a skill I will continue to develop for the long term, as it will be invaluable for communicating my ideas in the early concept stages.
